Celebrating 40 Years of Mascot GRC
This year, we’re proudly celebrating 40 years of Mascot GRC… the Glass Reinforced Concrete that changed how Australia tackles drainage, stormwater, and underground cable jointing.
Back in the early 1980s, Bryan Taylor teamed up with engineer (and GRC guru) Charles Rickard to create something completely new — a lightweight, durable alternative to heavy concrete pits.
The result? The Mascot GRC Pit, the first of its kind in the world and still setting the standard four decades later.
From stormwater to electrical and communications infrastructure, Mascot GRC has become a trusted, Australian-made solution built for local conditions… strong, reliable, and easy to handle.
Each year, we produce over 2.2 million kilograms of Mascot GRC, supplying more than 27,000 pits and risers to over 100 projects every week across Australia.
And with our new, world-first GRC batching plant in Sydney, we’re producing more than ever before… meaning larger stock holdings and faster delivery to site.
To celebrate this milestone, we’ve gone a little retro, unveiling a 1980s-inspired Mascot GRC 40-Year Anniversary logo! Over the coming months, our team will be out visiting customers and sharing some limited-edition caps and other gear featuring the special logo.
It’s our way of saying thank you for 40 years of support, trust, and partnership — and for being part of the Mascot Engineering story.
Mascot Engineering — proudly Australian-made since 1920.
